Miss Madeleine’s Birthday Itinerary:
- Move out of Primary Children’s Intensive Care (2nd floor) onto the General Population (3rd Floor) with all the other little “bugs” trying to “fly their way home.”
- Hospital staff hang a nice Birthday Banner on my new “homie crib.”
- A surprise visit from Aunt Sarah and my “bestie” Grandma (bearing gifts of course.)
- My feet are stamped as a surprise gift for Mama who is home sick and quarantined in our home with my brothers (Yowsie!)
- Auntie and Grandma give me a birthday bath (no pictures please.)
- Nurse gives permission for me to taste my 1st Tootsie Lollipop –orange flavored. No cake this time around.
- Doctor visits and discusses a baby diet to lose a few pounds. How rude!
- Snuggle Time with Grandma (she loves my fat.)
- Mama and brothers FaceTime me and sing “Happy Birthday.”
- Watch Little Mermaid
- Respiratory Therapy with Scot or Steve (can’t remember his name but, oh boy, is he cute.)
- Pampered, diapered, fed and told repeatedly how cute I am. Duh.
I know this is not the birthday so wished, but let me give a big shout out to all the big and little people who try their darnedest to make this day and every day as sweet as possible for me and my all!

“Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away home, your mama and papa are doing their best to make you a home for some long needed rest. They are sweeping the cobwebs and lighting a lamp while fairy bells twinkle, swirl and dance. Three boisterous boys wish upon stars that sweet baby sister is soon home from afar.”
